Perton Citizen of the Year 2014 / 2015

At the Annual Parish Meeting on Monday 27th April 2015 Parish Council Chairman Christopher Evans had the delightful task of presenting awards to Pertons Citizens of the Year which this year included a junior winner as well as the regular senior award.

We received several nominations in the senior category all of which had merit in various ways but this situation also means that a choice had to be made. This years Citizen of the Year award goes to Jayne Lampitt who is a very worthy winner having received multiple nominations each of which cited Jayne as a resident who gives her time and enthusiasm to numerous groups and committees and exemplifies the Parish Council qualifications for this award which are printed on each nomination form. Congratulations to Jayne from us all.

Nominations for the junior award are not that often forthcoming so this year it was very nice to receive a nomination for a very young but very keen Kacey James who the Parish Council very quickly decided had done more than enough to qualify her as Pertons Young Citizen of the Year. Many local residents will know of the grounds clearance work that has been done at lower lake to improve the area for Perton Angling Club and Kacey spent a great deal of her time on that project getting involved in a number of tasks to improve the area and thereby making Perton a better place to live. Well done and congratulations to Kacey.
